Richard E. Hummel's Obituary
Richard E. Hummel, 82, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died early Monday morning, January 22, 2024, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born February 6, 1941, in Newark, Ohio, he was a son of the late Clarence William and Helen Virginia (Vanatta) Hummel. After graduating high school, Dick went straight to work. He earned a reputation as a hard worker who could do many jobs. Dick enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife, Cynthia E. (Schoop) Hummel whom he married March 27, 1987; three sons, Richard M. Hummel of Newark, Thaddeus Wintgens of Dresden, and Nicholas (Michelle) Hummel of Hanover; daughter, Barbara Hummel of Frazeysburg; two granddaughters, Mariah Emerick and Tori Hummel; two grandsons, Dakota Hummel, and Kane Hummel; one great grandchild; two sisters Dorothy L. Hollingshead of Newark, Linda Kolb of Newark and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence W. Hummel and a sister, Betty Jean Powers.
In accordance with Dick's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
