Rick was a little league baseball player sponsored by the Moose lodge .(Late 50s) He and I along with Dave Nuessen past mayor of Quincy Il. Ricks dad was our coach I remember after a hot summer after the game going to Ricks house for a cold pop.He lived his life as he wanted.So happy to be in his past. ZIP IAMS now in Olathe Kansas.

Dick Hummel lived life with a no fear optimism that he conveyed to everyone around him. He did not know a stranger and would immediately jump in to help solve a problem, anytime, anywhere. My years spent as his show neighbor at The Scott Antique Market were a daily lesson in life and people skills. I guess it's my job to say, he did not hold back. We all knew, if you didn't want the question answered, you'd best not ask. And we all cherished him for that. He was as good a friend as I've had. He loved his family, he loved all of us and he loved Jesus. Enough said.

Dick was a one of a kind man who loved his family and friends with all he had. He helped anyone who needed it unselfishly. If you ever knew him he had a impact on your life one way or another. My prayers are with Cindy and his family. I will always keep our friendship close to my heart.
