Raymond D. Barton's Obituary
Raymond D. Barton, 64 of Johnstown died Monday June 1, 2015 at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center, West in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born July 16, 1950 in Newark to the late Howard Lewis and Anna Bernadine (Buck) Barton.
Mr. Barton was employed for 45 years with Krogers at their Heath and New Albany stores as a night stock clerk. He was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Local # 1059. He had achieved Black Belt rating in Karate. In his youth he enjoyed swimming and surfing. He was happy being home drawing and spending time with his grandson, Kaidyn.
He is survived by two daughters, Nakesha Lopez of Mexico and Nikki Shaw of Newark; five granddaughters, three grandsons; eleven brothers and sisters, Evelyn Grise of New Mexico, Sheila Arthur of Texas, Barbara (Ken) Yockman of Newark, Nita (Phil) Kasson of Newark, Bill (Vicki) Barton of Newark, Pat (Ken) Moran of Warsaw, Melanie (Don) Swonger of Newark, Dodie (Sid) Thorpe of Newark, Sherry Smith of Johnstown, Lori (Chuck) Stemm of Newark, Carl (Joyce) Barton of Newark; sisters-in-laws, Donna Barton of Newark, Joan Barton of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard “Gene” Barton, Jerry Barton, James Barton; brothers-in-laws, Snook Smith, Lou Mitchell, Date Grise; sister-in-law, Frances Barton.
Calling hours will be observed 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
