Kathern M. Whyde's Obituary
A funeral service for Kathern M. Whyde, 83 of Newark will be held Monday July 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Brandon Moore officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs.Whyde died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born April 22, 1932 in Newark to the late Samuel and Dorothy (Mount) Pendleton.
Kate worked at the Dari Twist in Hanover and retired in 1998 from the Market Basket in Hanover having been one of the first employees in 1978. She looked forward to family get togethers and especially Sunday dinners where everyone anticipated her noodles and pies.
She is survived by daughters, Sherry Staggers of Newark, Kathy (Michael) Scott of Newark, Vicki (Craig) Moore of Newark; five grandchildren, Richard (Misti) Staggers, Amanda (Jacob Glover) Scott, Linzie (Adam) Conn, Angie (Daniel) West, Heath Moore; 13 great-grandchildren; Colby, Carter and Piper Conn; Lexie, Ellie, Jersey, Breon and Harry Glover; Scotty, Adam and Jada West; Bodhi Staggers and Abbey Denman; sisters, Tootie (Stan) Samdal of Nunica, Michigan, Joyce (Jim) Young of Hebron, Edna Solether of Defiance; brother, Tom (Margaret) Pendleton of Newark; special nieces, Brenda Layton, Cindy Pendleton, Linda Grennell and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whyde, who died in 2005; sisters, Ruth Simmons, Betty Whyde; brothers, Tim Pendleton, Eber Pendleton, Richard Mount; son-in-law, Richard Staggers.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main St.
