Frederic A. Nichols,DVM's Obituary
A private graveside service for Frederic A. Nichols, DVM, 97 of Alexandria will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Alexandria.
Mr. Nichols passed away Saturday June 16, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born November 28, 1920 in Alexandria to the late Edward H. and Ila V. (Brooks) Nichols. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Nichols and many beloved cousins.
He is survived by many relatives and friends who love him dearly and will miss his presence in their lives.
Fred was a 1938 graduate of Alexandria High School. He received his degree of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1944. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and served as a captain during WWII. After his discharge from the army, he began his veterinary medicine practice in 1947 until his retirement in 1988 operating the Alexandria Animal Clinic.
Fred and his brother Bob traveled extensively throughout the world. His lasting legacy will be through the establishment and support of the Alexandria Museum.
Fred was a lifelong member of the Alexandria Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ohio and American Veterinary Associations. He also was a member of the Alexandria Community Council.
