Daniel Cameron Merritt's Obituary
Daniel Cameron Merritt, 29, of Granville, Ohio, died on Tuesday, January 16, after a long illness. Daniel brought great joy to his friends and family. He loved books, discussions on almost any topic, music, computer games, being with friends, watching the deer and birds from his window, and playing with his four cats (Frigate, Chesapeake, Constitution, and Constellation).
Despite his illness, Daniel lived life fully. He developed an expertise in military history; spoke about foreign affairs at Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, England; coauthored three law review articles; and lived an especially rich intellectual life.
Daniel is survived by his heartbroken parents, Andrew and Deborah, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins: Elizabeth Merritt (Clifford Duke) of Washington, DC; John (Elizabeth) Jones of Tempe, AZ; Patricia Jones of Santa Rosa, CA; Ethan Merritt (Ellen Wijsman) of Seattle, WA; Loren Merritt of Kalispell, MT; Michelle Modic and Caroline Modic, both of San Francisco, CA; Katie Jones of Weaverville, NC; and Mike Jones of Flagstaff, AZ.
A celebration of Daniel's spirit will be held in February; please contact the family for details.
