Carol "Cookie" Lea Barcus' Obituary
Carol "Cookie" Lea Barcus, 81, formerly of Frazeysburg, died early Friday morning, June 6, 2025 at the Inn at Bear Trail in Lewis Center, Ohio.
Born April 22, 1944 in El Paso Texas, she was a daughter of the late Ray A. and Betty J. (Fulks) Bebout and a 1962 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Carol was a long-time member of Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and continued to support after she moved away. She enjoyed being social, whether she was at church, visiting with friends, spending time with family, or getting to know people she just met while traveling. What Carol loved the most was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved going to any of her grandchildren's sporting events and was always their biggest fan.
Surviving is her daughter, Jodi (Michael) Kuri of Lewis Center, Ohio; son, Todd (Amy) Barcus of Powell, Ohio; four grandchildren, Sydney Jacob, Alex Kuri, Camden Barcus, and Jake Barcus; two sisters, Donna J. Wise of Frazeysburg and Patsy (Gary) Day of Wake Forrest, N.C.; brother, Michael (Leslie) Bebout of Coshocton. She is also survived by the many friends she made throughout life as well as her loving and supportive extended family.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald K. Barcus whom she married June 19, 1965 and who died August 6, 1994 and a brother in-law, Edgar Wise.
Friends and family may call 11am to 1pm, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
