Barcus & Bebout Family: Was so sorry to hear of the passing of Cookie. My sister and myself grew up with Cookie and her family in Frazeysburg. My sister Gaye Howard graduated the same year Cookie did in 1962. Remember her husband Don and was very good friends with both of them. Remember we had a child at Newark Hospital the same time Don and Cookie was having a child also that was in 1974. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this very difficult time. To the family of Cookie - she was my best friend through all 12 years of school. I lived in the country while she lived in town; so that meant it was a great adventure for her to spend many overnights at my house. When I stayed overnights with her in the summer, we would spend the day at the pool. We both played flutes in the high school band (starting in the fourth grade), and in high school, she was also a majorette. We did so many activities together; always had a good time together. I didn't have much contact with her after graduation as I moved out of state (the last 47 years I have lived in Illinois). She even went with me when I moved to Georgia shortly after graduation and my getting married (she was my maid of honor). I know she faced many challenges in life, but always seem to maintain a good attitude. Every time I think of her, I smile.
