Carol was an important and enduring part of my life during her years in Chicago. She was greatly admired by her many friends and colleagues in the Society of Midland Authors and in the community theater world and literary life of the Windy City and will be greatly missed by all. In 2009 she co-authored Chicago Yesterday and Today, a coffee table book with me. Together we shared a common Swedish-American heritage and deep cultural appreciation. For a number of years she involved herself in a number of worthy causes including an effort to save and restore the shuttered Uptown Theater, while helping to guide an Uptown community theater group, Scrap Mettle Soul. She assisted in the start up of the Swedish-American Museum in the 1970s and was a devoted and caring soul for the less fortunate. Brilliant of mind, and unwavering in commitment it is with deep regret and sorrow over her passing that I write these words. Rest in peace Carol and God Bless.
