William L. "Bill" Bolen's Obituary
A funeral service for William L. “Bill” Bolen, 58 of Newark will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Mason officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Bolen died Monday, October 19, 2015 at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center following an auto accident. He was born March 10, 1957 in Newark to Walter E. and Dorothy L. (Orr) Bolen.
Bill owned and operated Bolen’s Painting for 31 years. He was a 1975 graduate of Newark High School. He was a former coach for the Lakewood Girls Summer Softball League. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and OSU Buckeye Football. He enjoyed motorsports. He was a member of the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association and had drove “Plum Crazy” for 14 years. His favorite time was spending time with family especially his granddaughter, he lovingly nick named Peanut.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie L. (Castle) Bolen, whom he married October 2, 1976; daughter, Megan (Kevin) Egan of Newark; granddaughter, Kenna E. Egan; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Bolen of St. Louisville, Edward (Sharon) Bolen of Newark; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Beulah Hayes of Newark; brother and sister-in-law; Ernest and Barbara Castle of Newark; aunts and uncles; Carolyn (Don) Bennett, Fran (Curt) Bowman all of Newark; niece, Jennifer Castle; nephew, Charles E. Bolen, Jr.; three great nieces; many cousins, friends and feline companion, FuzzBall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and father-in-law, Earnest Castle.
Calling hours will be observed Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
