A service celebrating the life of Rev. Wendell Dennis Lackey, 47 of Bedford, KY will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery, Millersport.
Denny died unexpectedly Sunday morning, October 2, 2022 in La Grange, KY. He was born May 24, 1975 in Newark, OH to Wendell Lackey and the late Lindra (Bonham) Ricketts. A graduate of Newark High School, Denny worked as a Corrections Officer for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He was also an ordained minister.
Survivors include his wife Charity (Smith) Lackey; children, Kylee, Tessa, Nathan and Ashli; a sister, Amy (Mike) Mangus; nieces, Ellie and Izzy; and nine grandchildren.
Denny was preceded in death by his mother, Lindra Ricketts, June 2, 2018.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main St., Newark.
