Wayne E. Hawkins' Obituary
A celebration of life for Wayne Ervin Hawkins, 84 of Millersport will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026 at Woodside Presbyterian Church, 295 Woods Avenue, Newark.
Wayne died June 5, 2026 at his home. He was born February 3, 1942 in Newark, OH to the late Carl and Hazel (Diller) Hawkins. A graduate of Licking Heights High School, he retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He also worked for Van Voorhis Plumbing and The Timpken Company. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. Wayne was a founding member of the Tri-State Gas Engine Club and a member of the Cool Springs Power Museum. He was a steam engine enthusiast and always loved to travel.
Survivors include his children, David Hawkins, Rob Hawkins, Anita Sawyer and Michelle Denight; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Julie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Carol Hawkins.
