Walter B. Flowers' Obituary
A funeral service for Walter B. Flowers, 78 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church, 50 Price Road, Newark. Burial will be at Hanover Cemetery.
Mr. Flowers passed away Friday afternoon, June 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 15, 1944 in Newark to the late Lloyd and Ruth (Burrier) Flowers.
Mr. Flowers was a kind and loving man; a true family man. He was always there for his family and would do anything for them. He enjoyed bocce ball, tractor pulls and putt-putt golf. He also enjoyed gardening, family gatherings and he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Mr. Flowers always enjoyed family vacations to the beach and Pigeon Forge.
Survivors include his loving wife Lois (Hamilton) Flowers; children, Mark (Nicole) Flowers, Heidi Back; grandchildren, Alyssa, Mallory, Elisabeth, Brynn and Isaiah; siblings, Chester Flowers, Naomi Waters, Esther Weeks, Donna Renicker, Phyllis (Emerson) Acord, Patricia (Dennis) Waters all of Hanover, Sharon (Earl) Wallace of Heath, Delores McPeek, Vivian Wilson of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Flowers, Jr., Kenneth Flowers, Roy Flowers; sisters, Jane Hamby, Juanita Lynn, Virginia Flowers; several brothers and sisters in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit 2 to 4p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Ohio Living Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
