Virginia L. Moore's Obituary
NEWARK: A Celebration of the Life of Virginia L. Moore, 79 of Newark, formerly of Columbus will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore passed away December 19, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born December 2, 1936 in Newark to the late William G. and Nita M. (Stewart) Black. A graduate of Newark High School, Mrs. Moore worked for Park National Bank, Huntington and L-Brands. She also operated her own catering business, “Moore Please”. She was a member of the First Church of God, A City of Refugee.
Survivors include her children, Reneé (Juergen) Oswald, Thomas Appling, III., Jeffrey (Lynette) Appling and Howard Moore; step-children, Adrienne Cherry, Carol White, Victor Moore, Rodney Moore and Ricky Moore; sisters, Donna (Willie) Shaw, Mary (Bernard) Bolling, Nettie Oliver, Frances (David) Maxberry and Hope Ellis; brothers, Kenneth (Rebecca) Black and William (Rose) Black; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and newphews.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter Carmella Appling; son Bradley (Doug) Moore; a sister Nita Coleman; and a brother Cornelius Cherry.
