Virginia K. Huffman's Obituary
A memorial service for Virginia K. Huffman, 95 of Newark will be held at noon on Saturday November 4, 2023 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street with Eric Miller officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Huffman passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born July 9, 1928 in Newark to Fred W. and Lillie C. (Maharg) Smith.
Virginia retired in 1995 with 27 years of service at Licking Memorial Hospital. She had also previously been employed at St. Ann's Hospital and Woolworth's. She was a former member of Cox United Methodist Church and currently a member of The Old Country Church.
Survivors include three children, Connie (Russ) Benson, Dean (Leisa) Hunt, Patricia (Charles "Butch" Miller) Wheeler all of Newark; grandchildren, Dustin, Angie, Troy, Holly, Casey, Alyssa, Chayce, Roddy; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Georgine Kokensparger, Jimmy Smith, Vernon Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and close friend, Bobbi Cooper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Huffman and six siblings.
The family requests memorials to the Hospice of Central Ohio and the National Kidney Foundation.
