Virginia M. Flowers' Obituary
A funeral service for Virginia M. Flowers, 93 of Hanover will be held Friday May 11, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Virginia died Sunday May 6, 2018 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 25, 1925 in Muskingum County to Lloyd E. and Ruth R. (Burrier) Flowers.
Virginia had been a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church and the Hanover Village Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was employed many years with Ohio Pump and Transmission Co. Virginia, the eldest of her siblings, helped care for her brothers and sisters and later helped care for her nieces and nephews. She always enjoyed family events and activities. She was a keen card player and loved playing Nine Hole Golf. Virginia, her sisters and a few friends often gathered to play cards and Dominoes. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her life. She loved people and was considered the official Hall Greeter while a resident at Flint Ridge.
She is survived by her siblings, Chester Flowers, Kenneth Flowers, Walter (Lois) Flowers, Jane Hamby, Naomi Waters, Juanita (Harold) Lynn, Esther Weeks, Donna Renicker, Phyllis (Emerson) Acord, Patricia (Dennis) Waters all of Hanover, Sharon (Earl) Wallace of Heath, Delores McPeek, Vivian(Roy) Wilson of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Flowers, Jr. and Roy Flowers; several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nephews and niece.
Calling hours will be observed Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
