Virgil L. Morgan's Obituary
A funeral service for Virgil L. Morgan, 83 of Newark will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark with Cory Campbell officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery.
Virgil passed away June 10, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 13, 1941 in Newark. A 1960 graduate of Newark High School, Virgil retired from Owens-Corning.
Virgil was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders, Legend Valley Riders, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Moose Lodge and Newark Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Painter) Morgan; children, Mindy (Rita) Morgan, Kim Garven, Patricia Wampler, and John (Ashley) Morgan; grandchildren, Christopher (Jenny), Morgan, Adrian, Andalucia, Jakob, Andrew, and Abigail; great grandchildren, Zayden, Ava, Raven, and Harley Garven; sisters, Charlotte Tackett and Lee Anne (Andy) Hawk; brothers in-law, Curt (Gerri) Painter; Phil (Jo) Painter; and sisters in-law, Sharron Painter and Shirley Painter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John (Lois) Morgan, Virgil was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Morgan; brothers in-law, John Sheron, Pappy Painter, Bill Painter, Dick Painter, Jim Painter and Bobby Tackett.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
