Violet Nellie Sigler's Obituary
A funeral service for Violet Nellie Sigler, 89 of Heath will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Sigler died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Arlington Care Center. She was born May 29, 1923 in Licking County to the late Thomas E. and Ethel M. (Warman) Moomaw.
She was very active at the First Baptist Church of Heath. A member for over 25 years and served as a Bible School and Sunday School teacher and a pray warrior. She worked at Westinghouse during WWII as a part of the war effort. She watched children for over 30 years including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a former employee of AVI Food Systems and retired from the Union Street McDonald’s at the age of 86. At home she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking pies.
She is survived by her loving family of two daughters, Sadie (Ben) Wile, Sr. of Newark, Helen (Rick) Benson of Heath; six grandchildren, Ben (Missy) Wile, Jr., Jane (Mark) Welch, Jenny (Aaron) Long, Scott Benson, Amber (Marvin) White, Mark (Megan) Welch, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, Ben Wile, III, Nathan Wile, Caleb Wile, Elizabeth Welch, Emily Welch, Madison Long, Grayson Long, Quentin Benson, Cam’ron Benson; two great-great grandchildren, Ace Welch, Levi White; sisters, Kate (Kenny) Adams of Newark, who helped care for her sister, Doris Moore of Newark; brothers, Thomas Moomaw of Warsaw, Kenny (Susan) Moomaw of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Sigler who died on May, 6, 1988; sisters, Margaret Huffman, Edna Trimble, Mildred Seigle; brother, Donald Moomaw.
Calling hours will be observed Wednesday from noon till 2 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
