Vernon R. Stiles, Sr.'s Obituary
A funeral service for Vernon R. Stiles, Sr. 85 of Heath will be held Monday June 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Don Allen officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Stiles died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born January 12, 1929 in Benham, KY to the late Gordon R. and Maude (Johnson) Stiles.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heath. He was retired from Lucent Technology. He had served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth W. Stiles; grandson, Vernon R. Stiles, III; daughter-in-law, Molajoyce Stiles; sister, Gay Halcomb; brother and sister-in-laws, John (Edith) Fields, Beatrice Fields; nieces and nephews, Mark (Darlene) Fields, Debra Fields, John Ray Fields, Leslie T. (Kim) Ames, Janet Allen, Carol Ann Fields, Meagan, Adriah Marie, Stephanie and Zachary.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean (Fields) Stiles; son, Vernon R. “Robbie” Stiles, Jr.; daughter, Judy Darlene Stiles; brother, Cecil Stiles; sisters, Wanda Caldwell, Vedia Craig, Wilma Sturgill, Juanita Willis and Arlene Hayes.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main St.
Memorial contributions may be made to LICCO, 600 Industrial Parkway, Heath, OH. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
