Trenton D. Merricks' Obituary
A private funeral service for Trenton D. Merricks, 80 of Newark will be held on Thursday January 5, 2017 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark with Greg Robbins and Dave Mason officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Merricks died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Callands, VA to the late Walter Bell and Mabel L. (Wells) Merricks.
He retired over 20 years ago as a distributor for Archway Cookies. He was a member of the Heath Church of Christ. Trenton served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ellen Alban Merricks, whom he married June 12, 1964; two sons, Bradley R. Merricks, Trenton D. (Laura) Merricks, II; grandchildren, Emily, Conor, Will; sister in-law, Kaye Alban; numerous nieces and nephews including, Matt Alban.
In addition to his parents and ten siblings, he was preceded in death by his brother in-law, Reese Alban.
