Terry D. Wright's Obituary
Terry D. Wright, 72 of Newark died tragically Sunday evening as the result of a house fire. He was born November 7, 1953 in Newark, OH to the late Charles B. and Eura M. (Nethers) Wright.
Terry attended Licking Valley High School and had worked for various employers through the years including Walker Manufacturing and C.F. Motor Freight. Terry was a member of the Teamsters Union. He had a keen interest in guns and weaponry; he enjoyed weight lifting, boxing, and karate. He loved horses, westerns and history. In his younger years he also enjoyed motorcycles.
Survivors include his children, Nathan B. (Amanda) Wright and Shawn C. (Jamie) Wright; grandchildren, Hannah and Breeanne; a sister, Wilma Gray; and a brother, Ralph Wright.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice, Rachel, Helen LaVonne and Bertie; and a brother, Delbert.
Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Earles officiating. Burial will be at Smith Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newton Twp. Fire Department or Mary Ann Twp. Fire Department.
