Worked with Terry at the ROCK. Had some great times. RIP my friend.
I am a graduate of Heath schools in 1983. I remember I had a classmate that lived right across the street from our bus stop in Wedgewood. Myself and around 5 others would wait inside my classmates house in the winter and keep an eye out, then come running when the bus would arrive. Needless to say Terry was not a fan of this maneuver as he said it was making him late. But he always waited for us. My condolences to his family. Just know that he is remembered.
We live on Carey Lane. Terry drove the school bus for all of my children. They always spoke of him with respect and affection. My daughter told me if Terry was driving the bus she always felt safe. Prayers for him and the family
My condolences to Terry’s family. I have several fond memories of Terry. He would always say “Hey Let’s Sit Down” in his specific drawl anytime a student was taking too long to find a seat or getting a little ornery. It was just firm enough to get your attention and prompt action. My bus stop was close to a dead-end street and Terry would always drive by my house really slow if I wasn’t at the stop, just in case I was running late.
He is and always will be my favorite bus driver.
Karen, so sorry. He was my handsome bus driver in Heath, had a huge crush on him, as many did, I am sure. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I have so many fond memories of the Nelson family. Terry was my school bus driver when I went to Fulton Middle. My family along with the Nelson family and many other families were always celebrating something , somewhere, or watching an OSU game. I will always remember those times of laughter and joy.

Terry was my bus driver when I was a kid at Heath then I delivered his Advocate for 23 years out in LeMar Heights. In 2007 along with delivering his Advocate I had gotten my cdl and driven bus for Heath as well. We chatted a few times about things. I left that rural route in 2018 and unfortunately never saw him any other time. I ended my bus driving career in 2024 driving bus 1 which was his bus number for some time.
Terry was a great guy. The world is a little dimmer without him in it. I’m sorry for your loss and I’m praying for you.
