Silvio F. Serra's Obituary
A funeral service for Silvio F. Serra, 86 of Heath will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Church of God, God’s Acres, 675 N. Cedar Street, Newark with Pastor Roger Decker officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Serra a dedicated member of God’s Acres, Church of God and a man devoted to his family. He was a retired engineer from Sikorsky. Mr. Serra died July 16, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1926 in Bridgeport, Conn. to the late Nicholas and Louise (DeMeo) Serra.
He is survived by children, Deborah Taylor of North Carolina, Dana Serra of Connecticut; James Serra of Maryland; grandchildren, Ryan Serra, Katlyn Taylor, Jenifer, Soma, Allan Soma, Jason Soma; great granddaughter, Janessa Irizarry; sisters, Jeannie Lauachus of California, Louise Serra of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Lucille (Cryoskie) Serra April 19, 2009.
Visitation will be observed Thursday evening 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church of God, God’s Acres 675 N. Cedar Street.
The family requests memorial contributions to the church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
