Shirley Jean Baumgartner's Obituary
A memorial service for Shirley Jean (Bricker) Baumgartner, 78 of Newark will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.
Shirley was born May 21, 1938 in Fredonia to the late George Elias and Ida Elizabeth (Foster) Bricker. She was a 1956 graduate of Granville High School and lived her life in Granville and Newark. She loved to read, crochet, cross-stich, research genealogy and gamble.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph Baumgartner, III., Charles Baumgartner; daughter in-law, Cristina Baumgartner, all of Newark; grandchildren, Keith and Jared Baumgartner of Newark, April (Christopher) Garner of Buckeye Lake, KarriAnn (Bret) Spring, Angela (Keith) McCoy; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Weitzel of Thornvile; a brother, Leonard (Clara) Bricker of Cartersville, GA; sisters in-law, Linda (Kenneth) Rhodes of FL and Janet (Monte) Nagy of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Baumgartner; a brother, Walter Bricker; sisters, Wilma Moran, Louise Cole and Marie Carpenter; brothers in-law, James, Jack, Donald and Gerald Baumgartner, John Weitzel and Atley Cole; and a sister in-law, Rosemary Ratliff.
Friends and family may call two hours prior to the memorial service. 4 p.m to 6 p.m. Thursday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
