Savana Hayes' Obituary
A private graveside service for Savanna Hayes, 83 of Newark will be at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Savana passed away unexpectedly September 30, 2021 at her residence. She was born December 16, 1937 in Tchula, Mississippi to the late Eugene and Ella Horton.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a graduate of Mileston High School in Tchula, MS. Savana married the late Warren Hayes and became his business partner and a self-taught accountant at Jet-Clean-A-Car. Savana was an avid gardener and loved nature. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Savana was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church in Newark where she had served on the usher board.
Survivors include her loving children, Irene Hayes, Melinda Hayes-Davis and Tommy (Karen) Hayes; grandchildren, Anthony Quentin Turner, Aja Davis, Arren Houpe, Ivan Houpe, Warren D. Hayes and Matthew J. Hayes; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Mae L. Horton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hayes; a daughter, Doris Jean Hayes-Martinez; siblings, Viola Greer, M.C. Horton, Viola McDonald, Hamp Horton, Eugene Horton, Jr., Lindsey Horton and Lillie Mae Hayes
