Sally Lou Roberts' Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service for Sally Lou Roberts, 79 of Newark will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Baker officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Fairmount Cemetery.
Sally died Friday morning, May 13, 2011 at Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born October 20, 1931 in Newark to the late Earl Connell and Elizabeth (Hinger) Forbes.
A 1949 graduate of Newark High School, Sally worked as an x-ray technician at the TB Sanitarium in Newark; and as a nursing technician at Heath Nursing and Convalescent Center. Sally was a homemaker, a devoted wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Fairmount Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her children, Mark F. Roberts of Newark, Chris S. (Tina) Roberts of Frazeysburg, Glenn J. Roberts of Newark; grandsons Chad A. Roberts of Dayton, Joshua S. Roberts of Athens; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Christian Roberts of Indiana; a sister, Ann Linda Griebel; a brother, Charles Forbes; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband Earl “Duke” Roberts, whom she married April 20, 1954 and who died June 20, 2010; her firstborn son, John Vincent Roberts; and a grandson, John Vincent Roberts, II.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the funeral service, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
