Ruth Bennett's Obituary
A funeral service for Ruth Bennett, 81 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Conley officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at SharonBrooke. She was born June 8, 1935 in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late William and Hazel Narine (Harris) Futrell.
She was retired from Licking Valley Schools. She attended the Newark Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Here favorite activities were spent with family. She was happiest during family gatherings of cook-outs and holidays. She was an excellent cook and homemaker.
Survivors include her six children, Karen (Rob) Goodman, Vicky Bennett, William (Lissa) Bennett, Mark Bennett, Keith Bennett, Kevin (Denise) Bennett; of Newark; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years. Leo V. Bennett on August 16, 2016;and a sister and brother in-law, Mary Alice (Robert) Ruebush.
Friends and family may call two hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME - NEWARK CHAPEL, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
