Ronald W. Broadwater's Obituary
A funeral service for Ronald "Ronnie" Wesley Broadwater, Age 82, of Heath, Ohio will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday February 5, 2018 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Fullen officiating. The Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct military honors. Calling hours will be observed from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
An additional funeral service will be held on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kish & Fabry Funeral Home in Republic, PA.
Additional calling hours will be observed on Friday February 9, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Saturday from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
After a long battle with dementia, he was called home to the Lord in our heavenly home peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at his residence on Thursday February 1, 2018.
He was born on February 4, 1935 in Braznell, PA to the late Elmer and Margaret Broadwater. He was raised in Penncraft, PA. On October 3, 1955, he married his love, Melda June (Crawford) Broadwater. They moved to Heath in 1955 and started a 31 year career with Rockwell International retiring in 1986. He served the U. S. Army with duty in Germany. He was a member of the U.A.W Local 1037, Newark Moose and Newark Eagles. He played in the Horse Shoe Club for the Moose. He enjoyed gardening, shooting his guns, boating at Buckeye Lake, helping people out when they needed it, and hanging out at BW3's people watching. He had a love for animals. He always fed the stray cats to ensure they had a meal each day.
Survived by his brother, Earl (Patty) Broadwater; sisters; Sara Furlong, Darlene Gazella; many nieces, nephews and friends. Special friends, Patty, Justin, Jacob Phillips, Greg & Bonnie Crawford, Stacey Waters (care-giver) and Zachary Higgins.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, wife, Melda on June 2, 2005; brothers, Charles, Elmer, Ewing, Donald, Gerald and John; sisters, Louise Broadwater, Betty Miller, Margaret Orloski, Jennie Smith, twin sisters, Jean and Joan Broadwater; father & mother-in-law, William Leroy & Hazel Hasson Crawford. Special friends Tony Phillips, Irene Crawford and Don Bush.
