Roger W. Beck's Obituary
A memorial service for Roger W. Beck, 58 of Newark will be held Saturday September 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Alive Vineyard of Licking County 7602 Stewart Road NE, Newark with Pastor Steve Osborne officiating. A visitation will be observed one hour prior to the services.
Mr. Beck died Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 30, 1960 in Newark to the late Charles and Edna L. (Collins) Beck.
He owned and operated R & L Leather, developing his art of leather crafting into a career. Roger was a true believer of God and was a member of Alive Vineyard of Licking County. His activities included square dancing, camping and grilling outdoors over an open fire. He was a “cowboy at heart”. He also enjoyed video games and watching Pro Bull Riders.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lorena M. (Belt) Beck whom he married on January 29, 1984; children, Anthony “Tony” Belt, Kimberly Burgess, Jennifer Burgess all of Newark, Debra (Gerry) Waddell of Heath; grandchildren, Ashley Moreland, Hunter Waddell; sister, Carol Powell of Newark; brother, Gary Beck of Madison, IN.
