Roberta Johnson's Obituary
A funeral service for Roberta (Bertie) Price Johnson, 84 of Johnstown will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Bruah and Pastor Dennis Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Liberty Township.
Bertie traveled on to her heavenly home on June 13, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center in Newark.
She was born in West Virginia July 11, 1929 to the late John and Eula Price. She was a life-long member of Concord Liberty Baptist Church. Bertie retired from Johnstown Monroe School Systems where she cooked in the kitchen and genuinely loved the kids she fed every day.
Bertie was the loving wife of the late Raymond J. Johnson; a loving mother to two daughters, Carolyn (Danny) McCollum and Ann (Jim) Phillips; a wonderful grandmother to Cheri Shull, Jonathon Phillips, Linsey Shull, Jordon Phillips and a great grandmother to Amara, Carlos, Elizabeth and Karleigh; additionally she is survived by two sisters, Betty King and Joyce (Bob) McNamee; sister in-law Maxine (Don) Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Price, James Price, and Buell Price.
Friends and family may call two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
