Robert E. Peffer's Obituary
Robert E. Peffer, 69, of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2013 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
Born August 9, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio he was the son of the late Clarence and Emma Griggs Peffer Haught and was a 1961 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Peffer retired in 1999 from American Electric Power where he was a maintenance supervisor with 35 years of service. He was a member of Dresden Lodge #103, F. & A. M. and was a member of the York Rite bodies of Masonry in Coshocton. He was also a member of the Heath Eagles. He loved to work in his workshop and was a very skilled craftsman. He enjoyed traveling and he loved animals, especially he and his wife’s dog, “Duke”.
Surviving is his wife Dianne L. (Wallace) Peffer whom he married September 20, 1990; two daughters, Cynthia L. (Thaddeus) Webster of Newark and Marilyn J. Huston of Coshocton; three grandchildren, Nathan R. Paynter, Michael R. Houston and Nicole Huston and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are two step sons, Ronald H. (Claudia) Robertson, Jr. of Germany and Rodney W. (Terra) Robertson of Newark.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, George Haught.
Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Dresden Lodge will conduct Masonic services at 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
