Robert M. Hewitt's Obituary
Robert M. Hewitt, 79, of Newark, Ohio died Friday morning, May 25, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.
Born November 21, 1938 in Nashport, Ohio he was a son of the late Robert M. and Esther (Bohr) Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he was Superintendant of the Licking County Highways. He was a member of Licking Lodge #221 F. & A. M. in Utica.
Surviving is his former wife, Veronica (Vensil) Hewitt of Newark; one son, Curtis E. Hewitt of Newark; one daughter, Karen M. (Todd) Hogue of Newark; one step-daughter, Mary (Scott) Moyer of Zanesville, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Mark, Nathan, Ryan, Meredith, Spencer, Eryn, Macy and Callie; one brother, Ronnie (Judith) Hewitt of Newark; two sisters, Vickie (James) Shepler of Frazeysburg and Shelba (Marvin) Anderson of St. Louisville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, William Hewitt and Steven Hewitt; four brothers, Ralph, Jerry, Mike and Ricky Hewitt and two sisters, Judy Miller and Dixie Hupp.
Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Mattingly Settlement Cemetery in Nashport.
