Robert L. Brooker's Obituary
A celebration of life service for Robert L. Brooker, 84 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 N. Fifth Street with Rev. Martin Gehring officiating. A visitation will be observed one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, OH at a later date.
Mr. Brooker passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Altercare Newark South Nursing Facility. He was born March 24, 1940 in Logan, OH to the late Robert H. and Mary (Keistler) Brooker.
Bob retired from the Franklin County Auditor's Office in 2010. He was employed for 20 years as the morning DJ for a local radio station. A graduate of Lancaster High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Bob volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Bell Choir.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michele Resta; children, Maria (Jerry) Kurtz, Philip (Erin) Palmisano, Tyler (Liz St. John) Palmisano; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Heptinstall; and a brother, Jim Brooker.
The family requests memorial contribution to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church or Absolute Hospice.
