Rick Woodyard's Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Rick Woodyard, 56 of Newark will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Heath with Pastor Wally McLaughlin and Chaplain Anthony Peyton officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Woodyard passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital from complications of Multiple Sclerosis and Pneumonia. He was born May 22, 1959 in Newark to Richard and Linda (Phillips) Woodyard, who survive. A 1977 graduate of Newark High School, he attended DeVry Technical Institute. Rick worked for Diebold for over 20 years building Automatic Banking Machines until he was forced to retire due to M.S. Rick was an active coach for his boys when they played baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed lifting weights and running; trapping, shooting groundhogs and deer hunting. Rick was an inspiration to everyone who met him. He was very active in the church for many years serving as treasurer, bus driver and operating sound systems. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Heath.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sons, Jeremy Woodyard, Justin (Valerie) Woodyard, all of Newark; a daughter, Heather (Justin) Glaser of Hebron; four grandchildren, Trevor and Talen Woodyard and Jobe and Hadlee Glaser; brothers, Mike Woodyard of Columbus and Tim (Beverly) Woodyard of Canal Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, 525 S. 30th Street, Heath, OH.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate) or Generation Hospice.
