Richard L. Stockdale's Obituary
A funeral service for Richard L. Stockdale 83 of Newark will be held Friday December 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Joanna Samuelson officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Calling hours will be observed Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
Mr. Stockdale died Thursday November 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 7, 1935 in Newark to the late Orville Clyde and Eula Mae (Ballard) Stockdale.
Mr. Stockdale suffered from Polio. He had been employed by Owens Corning Fiberglas and Newark City Disposal Service. He was a graduate of Newark High School
He enjoyed arcade games and was especially apt at Pinball and Skeet ball. He was also proficient at Billiards. He was selfless, caring, helpful and creative man who would go out of his way to aid a friend. His favorite activities included time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Michael D. (Kelly Jo) Stockdale of Eaton, Juanita M. Stockdale, Richard E. Stockdale, Charles C. Stockdale all of Newark; grandson, Zackary Lee James Stockdale of Newark.
The family request memorial contributions to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
