Richard "Rick" Shaw's Obituary
A Christian Funeral for Richard E. “Rick” Shaw, 55 of Newark will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February, 26, 2015 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Father JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Rick died February 18, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 31, 1959 in Newark to the late Harold A. Shaw and Ruth M. (Miller) Shaw of Newark. He was a graduate of Newark High School and worked as a Fire Alarm Inspector for ADT. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.
In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his son Richard E. “Ricky” Shaw, II (fiancé Breanna Miller) of Newark; a brother, Robert A. Shaw of Columbus; dear friend and caregiver, Karen L. Stewart of Newark; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, Rick was preceded in death by his wife Carol (Abbot) Shaw.
Friends and family may call 2 to 4p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. A wake service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
