Richard William Barthel's Obituary
Richard William Barthel, 88, of Warsaw, died Monday evening, February 17, 2025, at his home.
Born April 20, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana, he is a son of the late Albert and Margaret Barthel. Richard was an honorable United States Army Veteran. He worked at Rockwell International for several years, prior to going out on his own. Later he became self-employed opening a filling service business. Richard enjoyed tree farming; it became one of his favorite past times.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard (Debbie) Barthel; three daughters, Maggie (David) Mueller, Sabrina (Jim) Bowditch, and Nancy (Bobby) Daniels; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and ex-wife and dear friend, Jaye Morand.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Barthel; and three siblings, Susie, Ester and Jim.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family is being cared for by the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.
