Raymond H. Grove's Obituary
Funeral services for Raymond H. Grove, 83 of Newark will be held Wednesday March 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark with his daughter Lucinda officiating. A visitation will be observed from 11:00 a.m. until services on Wednesday.
Mr. Grove passed away Sunday March 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1941 in Newark to Horace Raymond Grove and Ara Josephine (Crown) Ramsey.
He was employed as a Gleason Operator at Rockwell International retiring in 2010 with 26 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local #1037 and served as a shop steward. Ray served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed vacationing at the beach, listening to Elvis's music and playing the guitar. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn (Anthony) McCallister, of Newark, Lucinda (David) Mays of Heath, Sarah Burchard of Newark; grandchildren, Anthony (Kristina) McCallister, Theresa Kelly, Colin Bline, Calab (Joanna) Scarberry, Karalyn Scarberry, Shelby (Sammy) Little, Joshua Mays, Noah Mays, Aiden McCallister, James McCallister; great-grandchildren, Briona (Terry) Carter, Breezie, Ethan, Colton, Leona Stroble, Wyatt, Owen, Mia, Catarina, Zoe, Ryder, Caroline; brothers, Richard "Dick" Grove, Roy Ramsey, Bobby Ramsey, Andrew (Chris) York; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Coble) Grove; brothers, Marshal "Duke" Ramsey, Theodore "Teddy" Ramsey and a special aunt, Myrtle York.
The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Central Ohio.
