Ray F. Underwood's Obituary
Ray F. Underwood, 77, of Warsaw, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2018 at his home.
Born March 11, 1941 in Perry Township of Coshocton County, he was a son of the late Forrest and Leatha (Osborn) Underwood and was a 1959 graduate of Union High School. Ray proudly served our country in the National Guard for six years. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and was a member of the Perryton Church of Christ. He was a former Deacon and former Elder of the Church. He taught Sunday school for many years and he enjoyed reading. Ray worked very hard on his farm and was a great leader for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. His faith, his family and his community were his treasures.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Dorothy J. (Arnold) Underwood whom he married September 26, 1965; two sons Paul (Michelle) Underwood and Steven Underwood, both of Warsaw; one daughter, Linda Underwood-Huber of Evansville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Anne Huber Hernandez, Elizabeth Huber Riggs, Christian Jacob Huber and Luis Huber; and a great grandchild on the way. Also surviving is one brother, Harrison (Hazel) Underwood of Bluffton, Ohio; one sister, Iva Belle Gault of Brinkhaven, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Katherine Huber a sister, Dollie Beatrice Underwood; a brother and sister in-law, Charles and Marilyn Underwood, a brother David Underwood, a brother and sister in-law, Eugene and Ruth Underwood and a brother in-law, Daniel Gault.
Calling hours will be 3pm to 6pm Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Perryton Church of Christ, 6202 Licking Valley Road, Perryton.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Perryton Church of Christ with Ray’s nephew, Minister Jon Underwood and Minister Craig Mulpas officiating. Burial will be in Perryton Cemetery.
