Ray F. Davis' Obituary
A funeral service for Raymond F. Davis, 60 of Glenford will be held Wednesday November, 23, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with John Mick, Sr. officiating.
Mr. Davis died Monday November 21, 2011 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born April 17, 1951 in Newark to the late William J. and Gladys M. (Cummings) Davis.
Mr. Davis was employed by Fairfield Homes in their maintenance department. He was a member and past officer at Newark Eagles # 387. He was an avid OSU fan. He was a fan of Jeff Gordon on the NASCAR circuit. He was a member of different bowling leagues for 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors especially camping and playing horseshoes. His most precious time was with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beverly (Keaser) Davis, whom he married February 17, 1979; children, Michael Camell of Hanover, Brian Camell of Coshocton, Mark Davis of Newark, Jennifer Davis of Newark, Debi Decker of Newark; grandchildren, Hannah, Sydney, Campbell, Levi, Logan, Austin, Camden, Trenton, Nate; brothers, Fred (Mary) Davis of Newark, Ted (Pam) Davis of Newark, Rex (Jean) Davis of Homer, Tim (Cindy) Davis of Newark, Dick Davis of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy (DeeDee) Davis; brother, William J. Davis.
Calling hours will be observed Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street. Newark Eagles Lodge will conduct services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
