Randy Thornton's Obituary
George R. "Randy" Thornton, 70 of Newark passed away August 25, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
Mr. Thornton was born September 5, 1950 in Lancaster, OH to the late George Thornton, Jr. and Florence (McCullough) Thornton.
A graduate of Liberty Union High School, Mr. Thornton honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired after 48 years with Ohio Paper Board of Baltimore. Mr. Thornton was a member of the Heath Eagles, Druids, American Legion, VFW and AMVETS.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Kathleen (Mitchell) Thornton; children, Brett Thornton, Amy Thornton; step children, Stephen Farrell, Brian Henry, Kyle Henry; sister, Sandy Noland, Nancy Hill; and several grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Thornton; and a sister, Joyce Coss.
A celebration of Randy's life will take place at a later date.
