Patricia L. Porter's Obituary
A funeral service for Patricia L. Porter, 80 of Heath will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Chaplain Sam Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Porter died April 6, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 7, 1936 in Newark to the late Oscar and Lydia (Six) Redman. She worked in several fields including as a Clerk at Hills Department Store, a Teacher’s Aide at Garfield School and as a Housekeeper at Howard Johnson’s where she once saved a child’s life.
Survivors include her children, William (Alicia) Porter, Tim (Sabrina) Porter, all of Newark, Elaine Sturm of Heath; sisters, Joan Johnson and Doris (Robert) Nelson, all of Newark; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Porter, March 26, 2005. Mr. Porter, a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Navy will be interred with Mrs. Porter. Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Friends and family may call from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME – NEWARK CHAPEL, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
