A Homegoing celebration for Nick Wells, 61 of Newark will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Reecior M. Puryear officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Nick passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born October 18, 1953 in Newark to the late Nixon and Betty (Farmer) Wells. He was a graduate of Newark High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army, and an employee of The Boeing Co. He was a member of World Global Ministries and had been a member of Bethel Rock House of Prayer. Nick loved music; he enjoyed playing drums and keyboard. He loved sports, especially football and basketball. He also enjoyed playing cards and pool.
Survived by his wife, Dorothy (Puryear) Wells; son, Nicolas M. Wells; daughter, Ebony N. Wells; all of Newark; brothers, Charles (Carol) Wells of WI, Russell (Sue) Wells of CA, James Wells of WI, Floyd (Keena) Wells of WI; sister, Dorothy (Jimmy) Ruff of WI; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
