Mildred L. Smyers' Obituary
Mildred L. Smyers, 97, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Monday afternoon, January 6, 2020 at her home.
Born August 20, 1922 in Adamsville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Joseph Leroy and Emma (King) Dickerson and was a 1941 graduate of Union High School in Coshocton County. Mrs. Smyers was a homemaker and a former employee of Town & Sanders of Coshocton. She also worked in the offices of Ohio University, Zanesville. She was a member of Branch United Methodist Church and she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, gardening, reading and babysitting.
Surviving is one son, David (Sara) Berry of Warsaw, three daughters, Pat (George) Locke of Hanover, Cathy (Kenny) Jenkins of Frazeysburg and Karen Berry of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Shelli (Greg) McDaniel, Austin (Amy) Berry, Warren (Pam) Locke, Paul Locke, Earl (Tammey) Jenkins and Tonda Meeks; eleven great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harley Berry whom she married June 4, 1944 and who died October 12, 1959; her second husband, Lynn Smyers whom she married December 11, 1970 and who died July 19, 2003 and two brothers, Robert Dickerson, Sr. and Leroy Dickerson.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, January 10, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Mason officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
