Mildred Ellen Frost's Obituary
Mildred Ellen Frost, 95 of Newark passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 at the Price Road Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 4, 1919 at Purity, Ohio to the late Thurman C. and Gertrude (Mason) Swick. Mildred was a graduate of Utica High School and after graduation, entered the Newark School of Nursing. She was licensed as a Registered Nurse in 1941. Mildred and other nurses from her class volunteered their nursing services in California during World War II. She then returned to Newark and worked as a nurse for Dr. Mannino, Newark Hospital and LPN Nursing Home. She was a member of Central Christian Church for many years. She was the Secretary-Treasurer, of the W.K. Frost, Inc., a family oil and gas drilling business.
Mildred enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She was an unselfish and caring individual.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William Kenneth Frost, whom she married on July 27, 1947; sons, Douglas (Barbara) Frost, Gregory (Kristina) Frost, William K. Frost, Jr.; daughter, Beth (Kim) Thomson all of the Licking County area; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Robert Swick, Carl Swick, Mason Swick, Neil Swick, Louise Baker, Edith Holler; as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Mildred Miller.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday December 4, 2015 at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME - NEWARK CHAPEL, 1850 W. Main Street.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Rube Gayheart officiating. Private family burial services will take place at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful caregivers at the Price Road Health and Rehabilitation Center and special friend of the family, Kate Hannum.
