Michael J. Meisenhelder's Obituary
Michael J. Meisenhelder, 70, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Tuesday evening, December 14, 2021 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born November 5, 1951 in Zanesville he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Bay) Meisenhelder and was a 1969 graduate of Newark High School. Michael was retired from the asphalt business and had worked for several different companies over the years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and was active at the Zanesville Senior Center. Michael was also a life-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Heath, Ohio. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, feeding the birds and going to flea markets.
Surviving are two daughters, Kari Meisenhelder of Newark, Ohio and Misti (Chris) Clark of High Point, North Carolina; a grandson, Kamron (Ashley) Keller-Meisenhelder of Newark and a great granddaughter, Aubree; a “special daughter”, Jennifer Lennington-Smith of Newark and his fiancée, Maria Gurnicke of Zanesville. Also surviving is his sister, Helen Brandt of Newark and a brother Ralph “Buck” Meisenhelder of Frazeysburg and his special companions, his dogs Bo, Estella, Bruiser and Lilly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jill Meisenhelder, whom he married November 8, 1971 and who died December 20, 2010.
Michael’s family wishes to give a very special thanks to the nurses and staff of both Genesis Hospital and Altercare of Zanesville for the care given to Michael during his illness.
Friends may call from 3pm to 6pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Memorial services will follow the calling hours at 6:00pm with Father Martin J. Ralko officiating.
