Michael Lee Kasson's Obituary
Michael Lee Kasson, 71 of Newark passed away on Friday August 23, 2024 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
Michael was born May 14, 1953 in Newark to the late Austin Kasson and Elizabeth (Price) Westenbarger.
He was a truck driver for most of his life. He retired in 2013 from Dry Creek Concrete. He enjoyed playing chess and listening to jazz music. He took great pride in his activities with his grandchildren. His family affectionally referred to him as "Chef Migel" because of his cooking and grilling skills.
He is survived by his companion of over thirty years, Loretta White; daughters, Amanda (Joseph) Fitch, Chelsea White; grandchildren, Kimberlynne White, Journey Foster, Diamond Fitch, Sapphire Fitch all of Newark; sister, Elizabeth "Libby" (Jim) Littleton of Piketon; brother, Chris Kasson of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Joe Kasson.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
