Michael A. Dartis' Obituary
Michael A. Dartis, 65 of Newark passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 3, 1956 in Winchester, TN to Copatrick and Sunaria (Williams) Dartis.
Michael had been employed as an engineer for the B&O and Chessie Rail System. He enjoyed golf and pool. The Titans and Bears were his favorite teams.
He is survived by his children, Shane (Teresa) Dartis of Newark, LaToya (Keshia) Harris of Columbus, LynDwan (Sonya) Taylor of Winchester, TN; the mother of his children, Vickie Dartis of Newark; loving companion, Erin Cherry of Newark; grandchildren, Jalen, Kelsee, Jordan, LaTerian; great-grandchildren, Jullian, Adrian, Khelane; brothers, Copatrick (Cassandra) Dartis of IN, Larry Lee Dartis, Earl Vanzant both of TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Dartis.
A visitation will be observed Friday October 1, 2021 from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street.
