McKenzie Jo Wefler's Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial for McKenzie Jo Wefler will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark-Granville Road, Granville with Rev. Fr. Dean Mathewson and Msgr. Paul P. Enke concelebrating. Graveside committal service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay with Rev. Fr. Chris Bazar officiating.
McKenzie, age six, went to Heaven Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus. She was born March 31, 2008 in Fairfield to her loving parents, Adam W. and Samantha J. (Hammer) Wefler of Westerville. McKenzie was a first grade student at Cherrington Elementary in Westerville. She attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Westerville and was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Granville.
McKenzie was surrounded by love and blessed us with her spunk, sass and smile. She never met a stranger and never failed to impress us with her intelligence. A true diva, she was a big deal around here. We love you Kenzie Jo!
In addition to her parents, McKenzie is survived by her sister, Sahalie; her great grandparents, JoAnn and David Brunton, Barb and Roy Hammer, Al and Sandy Lyons, and Karen McFadden; grandparents, Paula Brunton, Russ Hammer, Kathy Wefler, and Tim Wefler; uncles, Trent (Jaci) Hammer, Kyle Wefler, Ben Wefler, Todd McFadden, Phil Hernandez, Casey Brunton and Brian Brunton; aunts, Kristie Billmaier, Deb (Dana) Aaron, and several additional aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
McKenzie was preceded in death by her great-great grandmother, Jean Hammer and her great grandfather, Bernard McFadden.
Friends and family may call 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Institute of Health or the Children’s Inn at NIH. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
