Maxine C. Binckley's Obituary
A funeral service celebrating the life of Maxine C. Binckley, 82 of Newark will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 11, 2019 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Harnish and Pastor Patricia Iddings officiating. Burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Maxine passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, January 8, 2018 at her home. She was born January 3, 1937 in Newark to the late Clarence R. and Laura L. (Logan) Whitis. A 1955 graduate of Newark High School, Maxine worked as an Executive Secretary at Denison University for 29 years. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees. Additionally she was a member of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Beta Chapter; she volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital, Midland Theater and for the Licking County Aging Program. Maxine had also served on the Board of Directors for TrueCore Federal Credit Union.
Survivors include her children, Tim (Marcia Tidyman) Binckley; Lori (Don) Blosser, all of Newark; grandchildren, Brad (Carrie) Bennett, Nicole (Gustavo) Angulo, Katie (John) Tyndall, Scott Binckley, Michael (Cassie) Fackler, Andrew (Sarah) Fackler, Amy (Jeff) Gillham; 14 great grandchildren, Collin and Zander Bennett, Alex, Ezra and Isac Angulo, Andrew and Riley Tyndall, Emma and Mia Fackler, Hannah, Hope, Henry, and Harper Fackler and Madison Gillham; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bink” Binckley; and a sister, Norma Williams.
Friends and family may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home - Newark Chapel, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Midland Theatre.
